Project Outcome: This initiative has made significant progress toward SDG 4 by providing quality education to over 400 students across seven branches, delivering 400+ hours of interactive lessons. The team’s focus on literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and problem-solving has fostered enthusiasm for learning. By addressing key aspects of youth literacy and foundational skills, the project aligns with the UN’s goal of ensuring universal primary education and effective learning outcomes, empowering students for future success and demonstrating the impact of youth-led community efforts.
Project Description: The students’ project was inspired by the critical issue of low-quality education in government schools, a challenge they encountered during community service sessions organized by their school. During visits to these schools, the students observed that sixth-grade learners struggled with foundational skills such as basic arithmetic and phonetics. Determined to address this gap, the team designed a program based on the IB framework, focusing on delivering engaging, interdisciplinary, and practical lessons. These sessions aimed to strengthen fundamental skills while nurturing curiosity and promoting a deeper understanding. With a team of 35 volunteers, they conduct educational sessions every Saturday across seven government schools, working to uplift underprivileged students through quality education.
