Project Outcome: Creating sustainable vegan leather
Project Description: This self-directed project focused on creating sustainable vegan leather using natural waste resources such as used coffee grounds, apple peels, and orange peels. Over the course of more than 120 hours, the student researched and experimented with various processes to synthesize leather-like materials from these organic wastes, aiming to develop an eco-friendly alternative to conventional leather. The project emphasized sustainability and circular economy principles, resulting in viable vegan leather samples and the systematic compilation of data and findings. These outcomes were prepared for inclusion in a research paper intended for publication, reflecting the project’s scientific rigor and real-world relevance.
