Project Outcome: Prototype of products
Project Description: The Product Design students at the PYP Exhibition demonstrated a commendable blend of creativity, empathy, and problem-solving as they explored sustainability through a real-world lens. They addressed challenges in the sportswear industry by questioning the affordability and comfort of athletic shoes and investigating eco-friendly alternatives to traditional dry-fit fabrics. Their project took a thoughtful turn towards inclusivity, as they designed customizable clothing equipped with Velcro and zippers to better serve individuals with disabilities. Guided by the Sustainability Compass and the Design Thinking Model, the students moved through every stage of innovation—from empathizing and defining the problem to ideating, prototyping, and testing their solutions with actual users. Their commitment to sustainable design and inclusivity highlights both their design capabilities and their social awareness, making this an inspiring and impactful project.
