Project Description:
Anushka Patel, Dhwnit Hemnani, Khushi Tapuriah, and Vivaan Tater worked on a meaningful project titled “Role Model in Action” as part of their Role Model Unit. The project aimed to help students understand the importance of positive actions, empathy, and social responsibility by applying their learning in real-life contexts. Although it was a unit requirement, the students demonstrated strong self-initiative in planning and executing various activities. They actively engaged in collecting resources, upcycling waste materials, and creating useful utility products, which were later gifted to residents of an old age home, promoting both sustainability and kindness. Additionally, they took the initiative to select appropriate books and conducted read-aloud sessions for underprivileged children in the City Light society. They spent their Sundays teaching, reading, playing, and distributing essential learning materials, fostering meaningful connections. The students also contributed to maintaining cleanliness in the school by regularly taking responsibility for cleaning the Rendezvous Assembly Area.
Project Outcome:
The project successfully instilled a deep sense of empathy, responsibility, and leadership among the students. Their consistent efforts over several weeks helped them develop habits of community service, teamwork, and accountability. By engaging in real-world actions, they understood that being a role model goes beyond theoretical learning and requires consistent practice of values. The initiative had a positive impact on both the community and the students themselves, reinforcing the importance of kindness, sustainability, and active citizenship.
