by Priosha Choudhary
Project Outcome: At the end of the 6-month period, Priosha successfully produced a portfolio of mandala designs that demonstrated both technical skills in visual art and also cultural and spiritual understanding. The outcome was not only the final artwork but also a personalized connection to the concept of mandalas, with her designs reflecting her unique interpretation of the symbols and the process.
Project Description: The Mandala Art Project was an immersive, hands-on exploration of not only the creation of mandala art but also its cultural, spiritual, and geometric significance across different traditions. It was part of the Arts Unit and spanned a period of 6 months. While it was a unit requirement within the larger Arts curriculum, Priosha had the opportunity to engage with it in a highly self-directed manner, allowing her to explore personal creativity and draw from her own interpretations of the mandala concept. The teacher facilitated the sessions but encouraged Priosha to bring her own ideas, experiences, and reflections into the project.
