Project Outcome: Demonstrating the relationship between copper sulfate concentration and light absorbance using Beer’s Law by integrating calculus, specifically differentiation and integration.

Project Description: Heer’s project focused on modelling the rate of filtration by investigating the relationship between pollutant concentration and absorbance in water using Copper Sulfate as the model pollutant. She designed and conducted a systematic experiment to understand how varying concentrations of Copper Sulfate affected the absorbance levels, utilizing spectrophotometric techniques. By analyzing the data, she was able to establish a clear correlation, demonstrating how absorbance could serve as an indicator of pollutant concentration in water. This project not only deepened her understanding of water purification processes but also highlighted the relevance of analytical methods in environmental monitoring and sustainability.
