Project Outcome: Hydroponic System

Project Description: As part of the Integrated Humanities Grade 10 Unit 1 Project-Based Learning (PBL), the student identified a problem aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to sustainable agriculture and food security. To address this, the student designed and built a small-scale, two-tiered vertical hydroponic system using PVC pipes and net pots. The setup included a simple manual pump, making it both efficient and easy to operate. The project was targeted toward urban families with limited gardening space—such as those living in apartments with balconies or rooftops—as well as school canteens and local communities interested in developing kitchen gardens. The project demonstrated the student’s innovation, environmental awareness, and ability to create practical, sustainable solutions for modern living challenges.
