Project Description:
Charvi Sarda’s individual Service & Leadership project, Faces of Surat Through My Lens, focuses on capturing and representing the diverse people and stories of Surat through photography and visual storytelling.
Project Focus:
The project explores the lives, professions, and experiences of individuals within the local community. Through the lens of a camera, Charvi documents different “faces of Surat,” highlighting cultural diversity, everyday livelihoods, and unique personal narratives. The process involves interacting with community members, conducting informal conversations, and photographing subjects in their natural environments to authentically represent their stories.
Project Outcome:
The final outcome is a curated collection of photographs accompanied by contextual insights that reflect the spirit and diversity of Surat. Through this project, Charvi demonstrated skills in communication, empathy, observation, and visual storytelling, while using photography as a medium to celebrate community identity and foster a deeper appreciation of people and their roles in society.
