Project Description:
As part of the summative assessment for the “How the World Works” unit on simple machines, the entire class collaboratively designed and created a functional toy for Early Years learners. Arshii Nangalia presented this collective project, highlighting the group’s shared effort and understanding. The toy was thoughtfully developed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and educational, incorporating features such as number and alphabet read-alouds and activities that supported children in recognising simple words through play.
Project Outcome:
The final product successfully demonstrated the class’s understanding of simple machines through a practical and meaningful application. The toy effectively supported early literacy and numeracy skills while reflecting creativity, teamwork, and thoughtful design. Through the presentation, Arshii communicated the group’s learning and process clearly, and the class also demonstrated empathy and responsibility by expressing their intention to donate the toy for meaningful use by younger learners.
