Project Description:
Naisha Patel, Anaya Drolia, and Namasvi Aggarwal worked on a project that explored the intersection of market-driven fashion and environmental ethics. The project showcased a thoughtfully designed collection created using innovative, eco-friendly materials such as organic hemp, Tencel, and pineapple leather. By analyzing emerging industry trends of 2026, particularly the growing shift toward circular fashion and bio-based textiles, the students developed products that demonstrated how high-end fashion can be achieved without contributing to the environmental impact of fast fashion. They also presented a complete design-to-market process, illustrating how traditional clothing styles could be reimagined with a sustainable approach through the use of low-impact dyes and zero-waste pattern cutting techniques.
Project Outcome:
The project successfully highlighted the feasibility of integrating sustainability into modern fashion without compromising on style and quality. It provided a practical model for ethical fashion within the student community by aligning environmentally responsible practices with current consumer demands for transparency and sustainability. The final collection reflected creativity, innovation, and a strong understanding of market trends, proving that responsible luxury is both achievable and desirable. Through this project, the students demonstrated excellent research, design thinking, and awareness of global environmental challenges within the fashion industry.
