Project Description:
Aadhya Gambhir, Fiona Patel, Thea Anand, and Sanaya Kothari undertook this group passion project to explore sustainable fashion through the lens of a circular economy. The project centered around organizing a community-led denim drive to collect discarded high-value textile waste. Through extensive research, the students identified upcycling as a key strategy to reduce the environmental impact of denim production and to promote responsible resource usage by diverting materials away from landfills.

Project Outcome:
The collected denim was repurposed into a range of functional and trend-driven accessories, including laptop covers, versatile bags, and durable keychains. Each product demonstrated the practical application of their research, showcasing how discarded materials can be transformed into high-quality, marketable goods without relying on virgin resources. The project highlighted a scalable and sustainable model for the fashion industry, strengthening the students’ understanding of environmental responsibility, design thinking, and community engagement.
