Project Description:
Nirja Gajjar undertook this individual Genius Hour project as part of the transdisciplinary unit Where We Are in Place and Time, choosing to explore calligraphy based on her personal interest. She demonstrated strong initiative by independently researching various styles, tools, and techniques of calligraphy and applying her learning in creative ways. Throughout the project, she experimented with different mediums, including coffee-stained paper, to enhance the aesthetic appeal of her work. Her process was thoughtful and well-structured, reflecting sustained effort and a deep engagement with the art form.

Project Outcome:
As a result of her exploration, Nirja created a collection of greeting cards and artistic pieces that showcased her developing calligraphy skills and creativity. Her work was presented in an organized and engaging manner, clearly communicating her learning journey. The project highlighted her ability to take ownership of her learning and apply it meaningfully. Moving forward, she aims to further refine her calligraphy skills and explore their application in real-world and creative contexts, making this a deeply enriching and ongoing learning experience.
