By: Yash Kalra
Project Description:
Yash Kalra’s individual Design project focuses on the development of a bowling machine, beginning with a basic model and gradually evolving into multiple improved prototypes. The project demonstrates an iterative design process, where each version is refined based on learning, experimentation, and problem-solving.
Project Focus:
The project involved understanding the core mechanical and functional aspects of a bowling machine, including ball delivery mechanisms, consistency of speed, and structural stability. Yash worked through initial challenges with guidance and progressively gained independence in understanding and improving the mechanism. He also explored possibilities of scaling the design into a larger, marketable version, indicating an entrepreneurial dimension to the project.
Current development efforts are centered on enhancing the machine’s overall performance and incorporating advanced features such as remote control and automation, making the system more efficient and user-friendly.
Project Outcome:
The final outcome is a functional and evolving prototype that reflects Yash’s growth in design thinking, technical understanding, and innovation. The project highlights his ability to engage in iterative improvement, apply practical engineering concepts, and explore real-world applications of his design, including potential commercialization and advanced feature integration.
